We are happy to announce that the Geography of the National Parks travel course is being offered during the winter intersession in January 2024. The dates are January 4-15, 2024. The trip will include visits to: the San Andreas Fault, Mojave Desert, Grand Canyon National Park, Lake Mead National Recreation Area, Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Furnace Creek and Death Valley National Park, Lake Powell, Vermillion Cliffs, Red Rock Canyon, Rhyolite Ghost Town, La Conchita Landslide and beach, and the La Brea Tar Pits. We will cover about 2,200 spectacular miles of the rugged American Southwest in four states: Arizona, California, Nevada, and Utah. We will also have brief stops in Hollywood, CA and Las Vegas, NV.

The approximate cost is currently $3700 per person. This includes round-trip airfare from Philadelphia to Ontario, CA with one checked bag. Admittance to all National Parks and other attractions. Lodging (double occupancy), all meals, and ground transportation to the parks and attractions are also included in this price. An itinerary is attached. The price may vary up or down depending largely on the number of participants and the cost of airfare at the time of booking.

Participation is limited to 12 students for the trip. To receive 3 course credits, you will need to sign up for the course through the registrar as well. The CRN is GEOG16331.
