Rowan CEP Becomes New Jersey's First PAB-Accredited Bachelor's Planning Program

The Department of Geography, Planning, & Sustainability is proud to announce that its undergraduate Community and Environmental Planning (CEP) program has been accredited by the Planning Accreditation Board (PAB) for five years, effective January 2027. This milestone makes Rowan's CEP program the first PAB-accredited bachelor's planning program in the state of New Jersey, and the 17th of such programs across all of North America.

PAB accreditation signals that students are receiving a high-quality education aligned with the needs of the planning profession, and that graduates are well-prepared to enter the field. For prospective students and employers alike, accreditation (or a degree from an accredited program) serves as a mark of professional recognition and quality assurance.

Rowan's CEP program is a four-year bachelor's degree that prepares students for careers in community planning, land use, environmental policy, and related fields. Eligible students can also accelerate their path to a graduate credential through the Master of Urban and Regional Planning Accelerated Dual Degree.  Students in the accelerated track may take up to four graduate-level courses at the undergraduate tuition rate.
