The Green Jobs Academy Collaborative Programs are strategic partnerships between academic, industry, business, government, and community organizations dedicated to ensuring that individuals at all educational levels can gain the skills and knowledge required to succeed in the jobs of tomorrow and thrive in the expanding green economy.
By integrating resources across disciplines and diverse partners, these initiatives provide students and professionals with flexible pathways to earn the valued credentials, degrees and experiential learning that are essential for preparing the next generation of energy and sustainability leaders.

IJB-U & Green Jobs Academy
A collaborative workforce development initiative designed to prepare individuals for meaningful careers in the green economy.
Solar & Trades Green Workforce Training
A full 12-week immersive experience that combines digital modules with in-person instruction, mentorship, and job readiness support. Through hands-on carpentry, electrical, and sustainability-focused training, students build the technical and professional skills needed to succeed in the evolving world of green construction and energy.
Rowan Energy Collaborative (ROWEC)
Energy Innovation through Collaboration
ROWEC was formed in 2024 to bring together experts, stakeholders and resources to accelerate solutions for the complex energy system challenges facing New Jersey, including energy security, affordability, availability, sustainability, and ensuring adequate supply to meet rapidly growing demand. ROWEC supports energy research, workforce development, education, policy, and partnership programs.
NSF IUCRC: GET-FIT
The Center for Grid Enhancing Technologies for Future Energy Systems Integration and Transmission (GET-FIT) is a proposed NSF Industry–University Cooperative Research Center (IUCRC) led by the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) in partnership with Rowan University. Green Jobs Academy supports the GET-FIT workforce development and industry engagement efforts.
Greening Camden: Educating, Empowering, and Enriching Communities for Climate Action and Cleaner Air
The Rowan University Department of Geography, Planning & Sustainability (GPS) Greening Camden Program is a transformative initiative that redefines environmental planning as a community learning process—one that educates, empowers, and unites residents to co-create a healthier, more sustainable city. Supported by the U.S. EPA’s Environmental Education Program and the TD Bank–sponsored Green Jobs Academy, the project bridges urban planning, environmental science, and civic engagement to address air quality, climate resilience, and environmental justice across Camden City.
The Green Jobs Academy sponsored a successful Greening Camden Citizen Science Air Quality Monitoring summer program with GPS, where Camden residents were trained in collecting and analyzing local air quality data and emerged with new skills and expanded environmental literacy. Green Jobs Academy has also collaborated with GPS to sponsor Rowan student internships.
