About Green Jobs Academy

At the Green Jobs Academy of Rowan University, we collaborate on the development of flexible pathways for students and workers to earn employer-valued industry credentials and micro-credentials, professional and academic certificates, associate’s, bachelor’s and graduate-level degrees and work-based learning experience.

We work with academic, industry, business, government, community and workforce development partners to create, connect and advance programs that prepare students and workers for in-demand jobs while also supporting initiatives for “greening” careers across any occupation.

We aim to make meaningful positive impact through:

	Helping students, employers, and businesses thrive
	Fostering economic growth
	Advancing solutions for a sustainable planet

To facilitate a robust ongoing pipeline, we support programming across the learning lifespan, including awareness and outreach programs for communities and K-12 students, and multi-faceted learning offerings for high school, community college, university, and technical school students, as well as professionals and trades workers.

Made possible by a $1M TD Ready Challenge Grant, the Green Jobs Academy has supported programming in wind, solar, alternative energy, nuclear energy, glass recycling, citizen science air quality monitoring, community and student events, workshops, internships, research, trades training, and industry and energy sector networking.

With a strong focus on the energy sector, the Green Jobs Academy helped to drive the creation of the Rowan Energy Collaborative (ROWEC).

ROWEC serves as a connector, collaborator, and resource, bringing together university expertise, industry partners, government, and other stakeholders to develop and implement effective solutions to the complex energy challenges and opportunities in New Jersey —and to help shape a more resilient, reliable, and sustainable energy future.
