Student Opportunity: PSE&G Institute for Sustainability Studies Green Teams Internship Program
We are very excited to announce that Rowan University is now affiliated with the New Jersey Higher Education Partnership for Sustainability (http://www.njheps.org) as well as the PSE&G Institute for Sustainability Studies “Green Teams” internship program. This is a paid, 10-week, residential internship program hosted by Montclair State University and other universities around the state.
If you are selected to participate, you would work on a multi-disciplinary team to solve real-world sustainability problems submitted by major companies. The program emphasizes skills that can be put to immediate use in your career, and the internship programs has a very strong track record of job placement for program alumni. You would also expand your peer and professional network in sustainability-related fields.

NJ MAP: Interactive Atlas for New Jersey -- INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY
Description: The Geospatial Research Lab at Rowan University is looking for an intern interested in joining the NJ MAP team. NJ MAP is a dynamic web-mapping site that hosts a suite of publicly available geospatial tools focused on New Jersey. Each NJ MAP project addresses specific environmental, land use and sustainability issues. Intended users include Sustainable Jersey Green Teams, municipal planning boards, environmental commissions, land trusts, watershed organizations and concerned citizens among others.
Position: The project seeks one to two student interns to assist with aerial photo interpretation and data collection related to Farmland Preservation in New Jersey.
Desired Skills and Coursework: Ideal candidates will have two or more semesters of GIS-related courses and one planning bank course as well as some computer programming experience. All candidates are encouraged to submit examples of maps they have created or any other GIS or programming work that demonstrates their abilities.
Compensation: The position will pay $13/hr.
Project Period: This position will run through June 2022.
Course Credit: This position can also fulfill the Geography, Planning, and Sustainability requirement for GeoClinic or internship necessary to graduate. As such it is considered a Rowan University course and counts toward the university degree and requires registration and payment as with other courses. In order to fulfill the department's 3 credit requirements for internship, a minimum of 130 hours must be completed.
